God Loves You!Sunday, October 20, 2024Today is the first day of the rest of your life. God loves You!I believe that life is a gift and that our Lord Jesus can call us home anytime so we need to be ready. The time we have on earth is short. Let us walk together sharing our faith and joy with everyone we may encounter. We are not meant to be alone. We work together as the family of God helping and supporting each other. As we minister to others, we are to do it together. In Luke 10:1-9 we read that Our Lord sent them two by two. After this the Lord appointed seventy[-two] others whom he sent ahead of him in pairs to every town and place he intended to visit.2He said to them, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.3Go on your way; behold, I am sending you like lambs among wolves.4 Carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals; and greet no one along the way.5Into whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this household.’6If a peaceful person lives there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you.7Stay in the same house and eat and drink what is offered to you, for the laborer deserves his payment. Do not move about from one house to another. 8Whatever town you enter and they welcome you, eat what is set before you,9cure the sick in it and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God is at hand for you.’Do not walk alone.Let us walk together in the love of Christ, knowing that everyone we meet today is a friend to be made. The reading of October 19, 2024 is from Ephesians 1:15-23:Dear brothers and sisters: Hearing of your faith in the Lord Jesusand of your love for all the holy ones, I do not cease giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation resulting in knowledge of him. May the eyes of your hearts be enlightened, that you may know what is the hope that belongs to his call, what are the riches of glory in his inheritance among the holy ones, and what is the surpassing greatness of his power for us who believe, in accord with the exercise of his great might, which he worked in Christ, raising him from the dead and seating him at his right hand in the heavens, far above every principality, authority, power, and dominion, and every name that is named not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things beneath his feet and gave him as head over all things to the Church, which is his Body, the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way.As we encounter the challenges of life, let us remember that … we walk by faith, not by sight.2 Corinthians 5:7Empowered by our Lord Jesus Christ, we go out into the world by sharing our faith by being present… by being prayerful and peaceful… by being friendly…May God give you peace today.May our Lord Jesus, walk with you, and hold your hand.May the joy of Chrit fill your heart as You sing His praises by word and action. We entrust our lives to God with everything we do and we are. Amen.Today is the first day of the rest of our lives. How can we keep from singing… I woke up this morning to a new day, a new gift of life that God has given me… FreeGod bless you!Marta Alves © 2024
